About this project:

(Phase 4 of 4) A young couple, with a growing family, purchased a home in the southeast Michigan countryside. Looking to remodel, they embarked on a four-phase project using Ekocite Architecture for the designs. During the fourth phase, the challenge was to create a new master suite with more space. Additionally, the designs needed to take advantage of the hilltop view outside both the bedroom and bathroom windows.

To do this, Ekocite worked with the clients on a design to achieve this goal. The project involved removing the circular staircase, using space from a walk-in closet, and using an adjacent room to make the master suite larger. The bath was remodeled using both new and existing plumbing with the sink positioned beneath the windows overlooking the hills and trees. A new tub was added and the bath area was transformed into a romantic space with a double-headed shower.

Included in the project:

  • Larger bedroom using adjacent bedroom space.
  • Hilltop view seen from bedroom and double sink.
  • Bathroom remodel with stand alone tub and double-headed shower.
  • New enclosed stairway.
